About Toll-Smart
Understanding the true value of toll roads
How It Works
Toll-Smart helps you determine if taking a toll road is worth the money based on the time you'll save.
Our Formula
We use a simple formula to calculate if a toll is "worth it":
(Time Saved × Your Value Per Minute) > Toll Cost
Example
If a toll road saves you 10 minutes and costs $2.50:
- At $0.20/minute ($12/hour): 10 × $0.20 = $2.00 → Not worth it
- At $0.30/minute ($18/hour): 10 × $0.30 = $3.00 → Worth it
Data Sources
We use Google Maps API to calculate routes and estimate travel times. Toll prices are based on available public data from the Google Maps Routes API and may not always reflect current prices.
Note: This calculator provides estimates only. Actual travel times may vary based on traffic conditions, construction, and other factors.
